Therapeutic massage

The British Red Cross offers gentle therapeutic massage for people at times of personal crisis to promote a sense of well-being and relaxation.

Provision may range from one week to six months. Users of the service are offered a relaxing 30 minute session consisting of:

  • hand care and hand massage
  • neck and shoulder massage given through clothes

At present the service is within hospitals. If a GP does refer someone then they will offer a space at the surgery for a volunteer to carry out the service.
