International message and tracing services

When armed conflict or natural disasters strike, communications often break down and families become separated. People often do not know where to turn to try to find a relative who is missing or to send a message to them.

In these situations, the British Red Cross works world-wide with other Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies or the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in situations of conflict, to restore and maintain contact between families by conveying messages and helping trace relatives who may have gone missing.
