Bilateral projects

Discussions with the Federation and the ICRC will sometimes highlight projects that they are not able to take on themselves.

In these cases, the British Red Cross will establish a direct working partnership with the concerned National Society.

Operationally, this can take two forms. Either the desk will source donor funding and send it directly to the National Society, monitoring progress via regular field trips.

Alternatively, the British Red Cross will send a project team out from the UK to implement and manage the project itself.
