The British Red Cross in Asia-Pacific

Map of British Red Cross activities in Asia-Pacific

The British Red Cross has played a lead role in helping communities in the Indonesian province of Aceh rebuild their lives after the tsunami.

It has also deployed a logistics Emergency Response Unit (ERU) to southern Java, where it is providing crucial support to the relief operation following May's devastating earthquake.

Aside from emergency activities, operations are focused on four countries -- Cambodia, Myanmar, Mongolia and North Korea -- with an emphasis on disaster management and health care.
