Why organise an event?

Organising your own event is a great way to support the British Red Cross. It gives you the chance to raise money while doing something creative that you really enjoy.

Whatever you raise will go a long way - even a few pounds is enough to buy the equipment, or pay for the training, to save someone's life.

If you need any advice or support, please get in touch with the local fundraiser near you.

The difference you could make

£2 pays for a food parcel for someone living with HIV in South Africa

£5 pays for 100 litres of purified water

£10 pays for a first aid kit

£100 pays for one tent for a family displaced by disaster

£200 pays for a wheelchair to loan someone with a temporary disability or illness

£200 pays for training and equipping an emergency response volunteer

£2,500 pays for ten hand-pumps to provide water for a community in Zambia

£4,000 helps pay for our door-to-door transport service, enabling people in the UK who can’t get about easily to access vital services such as doctors and dentists

Young boy's face
When seven-year-old Milo heard about the war in Iraq, he was moved by the plight of Iraqi children. Wanting to help them in some way, he decided to raise money for the Red Cross by bravely offering to have his long hair cut off in return for sponsorship. He asked family, friends and classmates to contribute and raised more than £80.
