First aid education

The campaign inspired thousands of young people to learn key life-saving skills enabling them to have the confidence to deal with an emergency. Highlights of the campaign included reaching more than 840,000 young people with first aid education and messages. The campaign also succeeded in getting basic first aid education included on the school curriculum in England and Wales.

Mairi Allan, head of schools and community development at the Red Cross, said: "We've been blown away by the results of our campaign. We have reached hundreds of thousands of young people, and now first aid is on the school curriculum, thousands more will be able to save a life."
