Grab a wedding gown
The wedding dresses were priced at around £100 and available in a range of sizes from 10 to 16. Many of the bridesmaid dresses were in children’s sizes and a variety of colours. Amongst the bridal accessories were veils, shawls, tiaras, jewellery and handbags.
Susanna Toivola, Southport Red Cross shop manager, said: “The donation just came totally out of the blue. I am so grateful to the kind donor as we raised nearly £3,000 from our wedding fair for the British Red Cross.”
The Red Cross also has a specialist bridal shop in Dorking.
Make a donation
Red Cross charity shops rely on donations from members of the public in order to raise valuable funds to help vulnerable people in the UK and abroad. Clothing, discarded gifts, housewares, books, DVDs can all be converted into income for the British Red Cross.
Our shops also accept second-hand textiles (like linen or curtains). If in good condition, these can be sold in Red Cross shops; if no longer useable, they can be sold to textile merchants, thereby still raising money for the British Red Cross.
