First aid at public events

Besides training more than 100,000 people in first aid skills every year, the Red Cross also provides teams of trained first aiders to provide medical support at public events across the UK.

Every year, 12,000 British Red Cross volunteers provide support at more than 15,000 public events across the UK. Our skilled volunteers, trained in advanced first aid and life-saving techniques, are there to make sure help is at hand if things go wrong.

We have long experience of providing support at all kinds of major events, including football matches, pop concerts, festivals and parades. So whether it’s a major event – such as the WOMAD festival or Pride London – or a smaller-scale occasion like a garden fete, you’ll find our volunteers ready to provide emergency support at a moment’s notice.
