Road safety information
| Each year, 3,000 people are killed on Britain’s roads. Another 30,000 are seriously injured and 11,500 of these are children. Distressingly, these incidents aren’t completely random – young people in deprived areas are four times more likely to be seriously injured than those living in affluent areas. | | | | |

The Red Cross is tackling this problem by taking road safety education directly to young people in poorer areas who are more likely to witness or be involved in a road accident. Our trained peer educators give 12-18 year olds the skills, confidence and encouragement to help save lives and reduce injuries in their own communities. | |
