The British Red Cross in Asia-Pacific

The British Red Cross continues its long-term support in China and Mongolia with a focus on HIV and social care.

We also played a lead role in helping communities in the Indonesian province of Aceh rebuild their lives after the tsunami in 2004.

In May 2006, after the devastating earthquake in Yogyakarta in southern Java, we deployed a logistics emergency response unit (ERU), which provided crucial support to the international relief operation.
