Solicitors work for free to raise money for charity

10 October 2008

Make a will in November and raise vital funds for charity at the same time with the Will Aid campaign.

Will Aid celebrates its twentieth anniversary this November, with almost £6 million raised for the British Red Cross and other charities since its launch in 1988.

The annual campaign is a partnership between solicitors’ firms and nine UK charities, under which you can make or change your will through participating solicitors by giving a charitable donation, rather than paying legal fees.

Will Aid donations

The suggested donations are £75 for a basic single will, £110 for a pair of matching wills or £40 for a codicil to an existing will.

Almost 120,000 people have made a will through Will Aid and the last campaign raised more than £100,000 for the British Red Cross.

If you, or someone you know, want to use the service, you can get a list of local participating solicitors through the Will Aid website or the helpline on 0300 0300 013. Demand can be high, so book your November appointment now.
