Do you have the skills and experience to help people after conflict has torn their lives apart? We employ people for a range of roles, including health workers, mechanics, language experts and logisticians.
The list of roles is constantly changing and every job is based overseas.
You will be recruited by the British Red Cross and seconded to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Secondments with the ICRC
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is headquartered in Geneva. It operates worldwide helping people affected by conflict and armed violence, and promoting the laws that protect them.
Around the world, the ICRC works with its partners, the Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies. The experience of staff from National Societies is therefore specifically valued by the ICRC.
As a British national and/or resident you will be recruited and employed by the British Red Cross.
You will be seconded to the ICRC when you start your overseas mission.
The majority of postings are typically for 12 months minimum and all are unaccompanied (no family or dependents) for at least the first two missions.
How to apply
You need to apply for specific roles advertised on our website. If we think you might be suitable for a position, we will request your full CV to be reviewed by the British Red Cross and the ICRC. If we would like to progress your application, the recruitment process will have three stages:
- HR interview with the British Red Cross
- Technical interview with International Committee of the Red Cross
- Selection day with the British Red Cross
For certain roles, you will also have to take language tests.
Please note, if you are applying to a health role, we require a copy of your medical registration as well as your CV.
