The British Red Cross is launching an important new care in the home service on Lewis and Harris. It will help older people, who live alone and don’t have family nearby, to regain their independence and confidence after an injury or a stay in hospital. The scheme will also help cut down on unnecessary hospital admissions and allow people to return sooner to the comfort of their own home.

Makoso Tshonde, 38, and his 11-year-old son Morena are joining forces with Glasgow School of Art student Mikey Cook to create a stunning piece of “living art” to underline their message on International Day of the Disappeared.
