  • could keep a fire and emergency support vehicle going for a week.

Get involved in Red Cross Week

Seven days, thousands of events, one aim – helping people in crisis. Red Cross Week 2014, taking place between 4-10 May, is shaping up to be the biggest yet and, with your help, we want to raise more money than ever before.

The idea is simple: this is your chance to do something to help the British Red Cross save lives. Whether you jump out of a plane or clear your shelves with a book sale, every pound you raise will help people in crisis, both in the UK and abroad.

Everything you need to know is right here on this website. So have a look around, think about what you’d like to do and then sign up to save lives. It’s that simple! Good luck and thanks for refusing to ignore people in crisis.

The support at home service is absolutely brilliant and my volunteer Nicky was an absolute angel. If it wasn’t for her, I’d have been completely stuck. I’m so very grateful for all the Red Cross has done."
Lorna Williams, leg amputee, North Wales

Whenever I go to the Red Cross I feel like they’re part of my family. I have a very close relationship with them… all the people there are very helpful."
Zuzan, Syrian refugee, Bristol

We’ve found the past two weeks very hard. It has been so emotional and half the time you’re crying. It was such a relief to see the Red Cross."
Tineke Bradley, Somerset flooding victim
