Expenses for all placements

All our overseas placements are fully funded through the European Commission’s voluntary service scheme. Your accommodation, travel, insurance and a small monthly allowance are all included.

Who can apply?

This programme is for 18- to 30-year-olds. It is ideally suited to those who are interested in the social sector and would like to gain more experience while learning about a new culture and country.

We’re particularly keen to hear from young people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to volunteer overseas.

You should express clear motivation for wanting to volunteer abroad and an understanding of the challenges you may face. You must be enthusiastic about contributing to the Red Cross’ mission across Europe.

You will be encouraged to bring your own initiative and ideas to the project.

What support will I get?

All volunteers will be supported by the project's local Red Cross.
