The pages below are more accessible for people with disabilities or those with a slow internet connection.

Responding to emergencies

We helped people prepare for, survive and recover from emergencies in the UK and around the world.

Spreading first aid skills

We not only trained people through our general and workplace first aid courses, but we also reached out to particularly vulnerable groups.

Providing short-term crisis care

Whether in the UK or overseas, people with health problems often find they can rely on support from trained Red Cross volunteers.

Helping refugees and vulnerable migrants

We supported thousands of people in 2008, helping them access local services and adjust to life in a new country.

Promoting humanitarian action

We encouraged thousands of young people to be humanitarian citizens.

Generating income

Despite the credit crunch that hit near the end of 2008, our fundraisers still managed to raise more than in 2007.
