How we are helping

Since the government launched its National Pandemic Service, the Red Cross has stepped up its support for local health and emergency services.

It is important to know the symptoms of swine flu so you can recognise it in yourself and others at an early stage.

As the UK prepares for a potential swine flu outbreak, here are some useful tips that highlight how best to protect yourself.

Our volunteers are acting as flu friends - taking round medication and shopping - to help vulnerable people. You could also be a flu friend.

During times of crisis, the Red Cross plays an important role in helping the emergency services and local authorities.
