Contacting family in the Philippines following Typhoon Washi

Relatives who are in the affected area

If you are worried about family members in the affected area, we may be able to help you find and contact them. Please call your nearest British Red Cross office and tell them you would like to trace a relative.

If you are unable to contact your local British Red Cross office, please call the British Red Cross emergency telephone line for the international tracing and message services on 0845 053 2004.

If you are concerned about relatives in the Southern Philippines, please continue to seek news through people you know outside the affected area.

However, if you are unable to contact family members, please contact one of the following organisations:

  • British nationals should contact the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office on 0207 008 8765. 
  • Nationals of the Philippines should contact the Philippine embassy:
