poisoning and harmful substances

Watch the video, in which a child is treated for taking a harmful substance, and remind yourself of the key steps below.

Harmful substances and poisons include alcohol, drugs (prescription or non-prescription drugs), chemicals (including household cleaning products) and some plants if you swallow them.

Establish what they have taken, when and how much.
