Every year, thousands of young people across the UK learn life-saving skills at the Red Cross' first aid road shows.
The road shows – which are held at busy locations such as theme parks, zoos and festivals – are run by peer education volunteers. Since young people often respond best to other young people, having their peers providing the training makes a big difference.

©Info Listen to peer educator Caroline Sanderson talk about the fun she has visiting schools and teaching first aid skills at concerts, festivals and sports events.
At these events, our volunteers provide basic first aid training in easy to understand chunks. They also hand out information on road safety and humanitarian issues.
Both exciting and educational, the road shows provide a great opportunity to get valuable messages across to young people while they enjoy a fun day out . They also ensure that participants learn new skills that, in an emergency situation, could mean the difference between life and death.
