©InfoDaria Stepanova, 16, is a peer educator for the Kyrgyzstan Red Crescent and has just delivered an HIV awareness training session to a secondary school in Bishkek.
"I have been a volunteer for one year. I enjoy this role and think it's important for young people to know more about HIV in order to prevent it."
Daria believes young people in Kyrgyzstan don't really know enough about HIV and she thinks this lack of understanding often results in those living with HIV facing discrimination.
"Many young people I meet still think you can get HIV through sharing plates and glasses or through touching and shaking hands. I want to share my knowledge so we can all try to prevent and understand HIV."
"I have a friend who is HIV positive who has lost his job, friends and girlfriend. If people understood more about HIV it would help them change their attitude to those living with the virus. We need to support people like my friend and I want to help young people to understand that."
