Home from Hospital - Swindon

Provides a weekly visit for up to six weeks after somebody is discharged from hospital. Red Cross volunteers help with activities such as collecting prescriptions, shopping and light household work.

First Call/Support at home - Bristol and south Gloucestershire

Provides practical and emotional support over the phone and/or at home, from one-off telephone calls for advice and guidance, up to on-going visits at home. We also offer support with discharges from hospital from members of the Red Cross, who can stay with you for around two hours. The level of support we provide is designed to give you a helping hand depending on your needs, ensuring you regain your independence and confidence as soon as possible.

The British Red Cross, funded by the NHS, our local Clinical Commissioning Group and the Big Lottery Fund provide this service in Bristol and south Gloucestershire.

Support at home - Bath and north east Somerset

Provides short-term support for people living in rural areas of Bath and north east Somerset. The service is aimed at people who have little or no support already in place and who would benefit from practical and emotional support to help reduce social isolation and loneliness, improve health and wellbeing, and access local services. Our visitors come once a week for up to six weeks and can stay for up to two hours each visit. You will receive a flexible, professional and reliable service, where you will be treated with respect and dignity and your privacy respected. This service is supported by Land Rover UK.
