The British Red Cross provided assistance, alongside the charity Urban Outreach, at a rest centre following a raid in Greater Manchester.
Twelve men were arrested for human trafficking following a major operation by police, the Home Office and other agencies - according to a report on BBC North West Tonight.
Greater Manchester Police asked the Red Cross to support the women and children affected at a rest centre.
Geoff Cheshire, Red Cross senior service manager for emergency response in Greater Manchester, said: “Our highly trained specialist volunteers and staff are on hand to give much needed emotional and practical support to the women and children recovered by the police.
“This includes providing first aid cover at the rest centre, psychosocial support and refreshments.”
Red Cross volunteers and staff worked in six-hour shifts to run the rest centre.
