When Germany occupied the Channel Islands during the Second World War, islanders were cut off from family in Britain and food. The Red Cross delivered food parcels by ship – the SS Vega – which arrived in Guernsey on 27 December and Jersey on 31 December 1944.
The shipments continued until the islands were liberated in May 1945. These are some of the recollections of islanders.Download
