Door-to-door story: a £1,000 donation

Borhane Mekni© InfoDoor-to-door fundraiser Borhane Mekni got more than he bargained for when he knocked on one north London door in February – and landed a £1,000 donation.Donor Michael Davies was so inspired by Borhane’s “dedication and passion” he gave his share of his architectural firm’s annual charity fund to the British Red Cross, along with a letter of praise

Michael said: “I was very impressed with him. He spoke with dedication and passion.  I liked that he was so eloquent and passionate and I wanted that to be recognised.”

Borhane, who has been fundraising for the Red Cross for over a year, said: “We had a great conversation and discussed the Red Cross’ work in Zimbabwe, Gaza and the UK.

“He was really excited, though you can never tell when people say they’ll help out that they definitely will. So it was great to find out that he had made such a big contribution.”
