Big Give Reuniting Separated Families

British Red Cross is participating in the Big Give Christmas challenge the UK’s biggest online match funding campaign which will help us to raise £90,000 for our family reunion appeal.

After the trauma of fleeing their home, one small comfort is that a refugee can legally bring over their children and partner. They don’t have to stay apart forever. This is called ‘family reunion’ – and it’s part of UK and international law. But some families cannot afford the legal help to make it happen – and it’s keeping loved ones apart. Furthermore the lack of legal support also leaves women and children stranded in dangerous situations.

Help bring families back together.

Last year the British Red Cross reunited 2,000 refugees with their families. This year you can help us reunite more.
By registering your interest to receive information about the Big Give Family Reunion campaign we will contact you between 28 November and 5 December to donate through the Big Give website and DOUBLE YOUR DONATION*.

*Match funding is available to the British Red Cross up to a total of £45,000 for our Reuniting Separated Families project, so every donation given between 28 – November and 5 December will be matched up to £45,000. Should donations exceed this total, your donation will still be gratefully received, but not matched.  Each donor can make a gift of up to £5k to qualify to have their donation matched until the matched funds are exhausted.
