Canon Europe

This year Canon is asking people to stop taking ‘selfies’ and help make this Christmas a little more #selfieless - by turning our lenses around and focusing on others.

Everyone can join in. Simply do something good for someone else, photograph it and share your photo on social media using #selfieless.

As part of the campaign, Canon will be donating over €1 million to the Red Cross in 33 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. They will help to fund vital health and social care projects so that the Red Cross can be there when it counts.

Here in the UK, Canon will be helping to fund British Red Cross support at home projects, where our teams visit vulnerable and lonely people who do not have anyone to turn to. The Red Cross will support people in crisis to regain their dignity and confidence so that they can live independently in their own homes.

Reaching young people across Europe

Since 2006, Canon Europe and the Canon National Sales Offices across Europe have donated over €4.3 million to European Red Cross Societies, reaching over one million children and young people.

Together, we are helping to improve the lives of vulnerable children across Europe and providing them with someone to turn to. We are instilling humanitarian values and teaching life skills to help them build brighter futures.

Projects include:

  • teaching children and young people life-saving first aid skills
  • providing emotional support or counselling
  • promoting gender equality
  • teaching road safety.
