British Red Cross and Delta Air Lines are working in partnership to support people in crisis across the UK. Thanks to Delta, we are setting up a UK emergency-response call centre.
In a UK emergency, the Red Cross works alongside the emergency services to help people in need. We respond to thousands of emergency call-outs every year, including house fires and flooding.
These emergency calls will be centralised at the call centre so we can deal with emergencies more efficiently and effectively.
Simon Lewis, head of crisis response at the Red Cross said: “We’re extremely excited about our partnership with Delta Air Lines and their support of the new UK emergency response call centre.
“With the support of partners like Delta, the Red Cross can continue its vital work supporting people in crisis across the UK.”
Nat Pieper, Delta’s senior vice president for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India said: “By their nature, emergencies can happen at any time, which is why we have committed to supporting the work of the British Red Cross.
“We have worked with the American Red Cross for more than 75 years and having seen the incredible work they do, we’re proud to be able to help their British counterpart assist people across the UK.”
