Harlaxton Summer Music 25th Anniversary

Join us at the stunning Harlaxton Manor for a series of spectacular annual summer concerts.

Friday 19 May: Richard Roddis, tenor, with Clive Pollard, piano.

Richard Roddis is no stranger to Harlaxton, having performed for these concerts a number of times. He has performed, broadcast and recorded at home and abroad, and is conductor of a number of choirs. London-based Clive Pollard has an international career accompanying and coaching singers. Roddis and Pollard’s programme includes Brahms's penultimate opus, Vier ernste Gesänge, and Pollard's song cycle to texts by W H Davies, A Rainbow and a Cuckoo's Song. Amy Beach's delightful Three Shakespeare Songs Op 37 will be performed alongside other American songs too.

Friday 2 June: Nikolay Girov, cello, with Asaka Anna Ginova, piano.

Bulgarian born cellist Nikolay Girov came to the UK in 2001 on a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music in London. He undertook further studies at Stuttgart and the Royal Academy of Music. Girov now performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician, including performing at the Proms. His Japanese wife and pianist Asaka Anna Ginova has a busy professional career and teaches at the Guildhall School of Music.

Friday 28 July: Férdia Stone-Davis, recorders, with Douglas Hollick, harpsichord.

Férdia Stone-Davis holds a Master of Music award from Trinity College of Music, London, and studied recorders with Philip Thorby, Rebecca Miles, and, subsequently, Pamela Thorby. Recently she has performed in Cambridge and at a number of universities including Queen’s University, Belfast, Huddersfield University, and the University of Göttingen, Germany. Harpsichord-musician Douglas Hollick is well known to Harlaxton audiences, and this programme with Stone-Davis will include duo works by Handel, Telemann and Barsanti, as well as pieces for solo recorder and solo harpsichord.
