Rigoletto Opera at Kirklinton Hall

Join us for an evening of opera in the wonderful Kirklinton Hall.

This seventeenth century ruined country house is currently being restored to its former glory. Its Victorian wing, now fully roofed and functional, will be the setting for this spectacular event.

The story of Rigoletto, the Duke of Mantua's court jester, and his beautiful daughter Gilda, is a tale of both decadence and innocence.

After receiving a curse, Rigoletto’s life is changed forever as his degenerate world collides with the pious world of his daughter.

Regents Opera will perform a Pre-Raphaelite inspired production set in the 1850s and based on Victor Hugo’s Le Roi s’muse (The King Amuses Himself).

One of Verdi's finest operas, this is a perfect evening of love, lust and intrigue.

This is an intimate event with pre-opera picnics on the lawn from 5pm. Official proceedings start at 7pm with a champagne reception kindly sponsored by Pol Roger. The performance will commence at 7.30pm.
