Scaleby Castle

Lord and Lady Henley welcome you to visit the beautiful 2.5-acre garden at Scaleby Castle which is surrounded by an ancient water-filled moat. The castle was originally built in the early 14th century, and extended in the 15th century to form a substantial fortification. It boasts a pele tower and other interesting features.

Directions:

From the M6, leave at Junction 44 and take the fourth exit on to A689, signed Hexham. After 1 mile, turn left, signposted Scaleby. After 3 miles you will reach the village of Scaleby where you will pass the church and village hall on your left. Continue on to what appears to be a crossroads and turn right down the drive. From Brampton, follow the A6071 for Longtown. After approximately 6 miles, turn left to Scaleby. After 1.5 miles you will approach what appears to be a crossroads. Turn left.
