accessibility & help

What is it?

  • Hold a quiz and show your support for the British Red Cross!
  • Raise money by setting a suggested donation for people to enter.

What you’ll need

  • A date for your quiz
  • A venue for you to hold it
  • A prize for the winning team
  • Friends to help you plan and run the event
  • Quiz questions organised into different rounds
  • Lots of pens and pencils for teams to use – people always forget to bring their own
  • Sheets of paper for people to write their answers on
  • Permission from your youth leader or teacher
  • A way of making sure everybody knows about it so they can join in. Think about the ways you can do this – maybe using posters, newsletters or announcements
  • A safe, sealed or lockable place to keep the money you raise
  • Someone who can write a cheque for the amount you raise

Top tips

  • Set your quiz date a few weeks ahead so you have plenty of time to tell everyone about it.
  • Try to sign up teams in advance so you know how many people to expect.
  • Keep a running total of the scores between rounds to add to the competitive spirit.
  • You could run a random raffle draw in an interval to raise even more money.

All about the money

  • Ask people to pay their donation when they arrive at the quiz, or even in advance.
  • Once the event is over and you’ve collected all the money, post us a cheque (made payable to the British Red Cross) for the amount you raised, along with a copy of the banking form from the module five facilitator's notes. Our address details are also on the same page as the form.
