Baden Powell Adventure Weekend

The weekend was based on the Red Cross Changing the World Project. The girls, from across Sefton County came together to celebrate their Guiding achievements, not knowing that were about to become a Humanitarian Citizen!
The girls completed the compulsory modules from the project, taking part in an array of activities including emergency bingo, creating emergency high energy biscuits and making emergency shelters in the woods.

They also filmed their own news articles about being humanitarian citizens (one group made a film about a car crash and a first aider coming to the rescue and the other group acted out a recent news story about marathon runners getting stuck in the Lakes after flooding). A great time was had by all.
Guide Charlotte said: "I really enjoyed the activities we did and making new guiding friends."

Guide Hayley added: "I really enjoyed the Baden Powell adventure. I learnt lots of things about the Red Cross and I enjoyed making the shelter and making a movie about being a humanitarian citizen."

The Guides finished the weekend by organising an Awards ceremony where humanitarian awards were presented and their films were shown to their parents. The Sefton County Commissioner also came to present their Baden Powell Awards.
