Father-of-five Euael Chuma (38) has a lot of hungry mouths to feed. He is one of 40,000 people who received food relief from the Ethiopian Red Cross in Damot Pulasa.
Euael is grateful for the Red Cross’ intervention. He said: “Thanks to the Red Cross, we have managed to survive and can defeat the terrible hunger with the food provision we got. We also received seeds to plant and use for the coming season.”
Euael has now planted haricot beans, sweet potato, peas and maize on his plot of land. The farm is fully covered with these crops. The maize is already ripe and is being used to feed the family. He and his family are very happy and hope not to have to face the ‘terrible hunger’ again.
