Clean Start Appeal

Our Clean Start Appeal raised an amazing £6.5 million to help bring safe water and better sanitation to communities in Kenya and Bangladesh.

Thank you to everyone who donated, we could not have done it without you.

What’s more, DFID match funded the total up to a value of £5 million.

The UK government funds are being used to support water and sanitation projects in Kenya and Bangladesh, benefitting around 255,000 people.

Unsafe water and poor sanitation is a major contributor to poverty and ill health.

The projects funded by the Clean Start Appeal will help lift people out of poverty, give children a better education and reduce the prevalence of waterborne diseases.
