Jobs tackling loneliness

Apply now and help the British Red Cross tackle loneliness and social isolation in your community.

Loneliness can affect anyone.

Some people may feel lonely even when they are around lots of people.

Social isolation affects people who do not have a lot of contact with others. They may feel lonely, too.

Either way, these negative feelings affect people of all ages and backgrounds. In fact we’ve found nine million adults of all ages are affected – that’s almost one fifth of the UK population. But you can help.

We are recruiting

Through our partnership with Co-op, we are preparing to launch new services to help thousands of people experiencing loneliness and social isolation reconnect with their communities.

We’re currently recruiting across the UK for people to help deliver two new services – community connectors and support at home.

These two-year fixed term roles offer a wide range of staff benefits, including:

  • 36 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
  • Up to six per cent contributory pension
  • Childcare vouchers.
