HIV education in the Caribbean

A young woman and man show off their t-shirts that read 'HIV positive, until proven negative, get tested'© InfoThe Caribbean has the highest HIV infection rate outside of Africa and AIDS is one of the leading causes of death for people aged 25-44 in the region.

Our Overseas Branches in the Caribbean take part in a campaign called Together We Can to raise awareness of the disease among young people.

Peer education

The Red Cross trains young volunteers so they are able to lead fun sessions for other young people in HIV prevention and reducing stigma.

Young volunteers across the region have helped thousands of their peers learn how to protect themselves and respect others who are living with HIV.
