Global Lines

This teaching resource has been developed to introduce 13 to 17 year old secondary school students to concepts of global citizenship.

It is designed to help young people gain a better understanding of the world around them and their place within it. Along the way, it will open their eyes to concepts such as diversity, human rights, democracy, social justice and active participation.

The various activities in the pack put these abstract concepts into context by using real-life case studies and interactive group exercises. The activities explore hardships and moral dilemmas faced by people in situations of violence or conflict and study the role of crisis response organisations such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent. The case studies we have chosen are from Rwanda, Bosnia Herzegovina and Northern Ireland.
