James McAvoy

Actor James McAvoy supports the British Red Cross' work overseas.

Most recently James travelled to northern Uganda with us to highlight the forgotten humanitarian crisis there.

James McAvoy, actor

He became interested in the region after appearing in the film The Last King of Scotland.

"It's amazing to think that some of the people I met have been in these camps for five, ten, sometimes even 15 years. The conditions in the camps were awful and it's horrific to think this has been going on for so long and that so few people actually know about it," he said. "The Red Cross is providing essential support to those in the camps and also to those who are starting to return home."

James McAvoy most recently starred in Atonement and will next appear in Wanted opposite Angelina Jolie.
