First aid learning for young people

The British Red Cross in Northern Ireland is committed to delivering quality first aid learning to young people aged from 7 to 26 in any type of school or youth organisation.

We offer a range of certificated courses which are detailed below. The certificates are valid for three years.

Some of the courses we deliver:  

Two hour save a life course
This course covers the recovery position, CPR, and dealing with choking.
Available for groups of 12 and above.
Price: Minimum charge £72 for a group of 12 people. Additional members £6 per person.  

Four hour emergency life support course
This course covers the recovery position, CPR, dealing with choking, treating severe bleeds and dealing with illnesses.
Available for groups of 12 and above.
Price: Minumum charge £144 for a group of 12 people. Additional members £12 per person.  

Seven hour basic first aid course
This course prepares the learner to respond to a range of accidents and illnesses. Recovery position, CPR, dealing with choking, treating severe bleeds, dealing with major/minor illnesses, treating burns, dealing with fractures. 
Available for groups of 12 and above.
Price: Minimum charge £300 for a group of 12 people. Additional members £25 per person.  

14 hour practical first aid course
This covers the same topics as the basic course but in more detail with the opportunity to practice scenario work. 
Available for groups of 12 and above.
Price: Minimum charge £480 for a group of 12 people. Additional members £40 per person.  

28 hour Standard first aid course
This covers the same topics as the basic and practical course but in greater detail with the opportunity to practice scenario work and more advanced techniques. 
Available for groups of 12 and above.
Price: Minimum charge £660 for a group of 12 people. Additional members £55 per person.  

We endeavour to accommodate the timetable and programme requirements of our clients wherever possible. We can also tailor the courses to your needs to ensure you learn the most appropriate skills in addition to the core course content.
