Family support services

The Family Support Centre provides a range of services for disabled children, their families and carers. The facilities at the centre include:

  1. Toy Library
  2. Sensory Room
  3. Computer Suite
  4. Counselling Room
  5. Large play area with a ball pool

Services

  • Support Groups
    The aim of the support groups is to enable parents to meet and gain support from others in a similar position.
  • Toy Library
    There is a wide selection of quality educational and play equipment that is available for loan to parents and settings.
  • Play 4 All
    To provide funding and support to enable disabled children aged 3-16 to gain access to mainstream Play and Leisure services in the city.
  • Family Support Centre
    Providing information, advice, advocacy and family support to parents/carers of children with special needs.
  • Empowerment Group
    This is an informal group of parents who come together to exchange information, give mutual support and to learn from each other’s experience.
  • Braunstone Disability Project
    This project is available to anyone who lives in the Braunstone New Deal area and has a disability and/or additional need, or who is a carer.
  • Outreach Toy Library
    The mobile toy library regularly visits different venues across Leicester.
  • Skills Mission Project
    The project is a joint venture between Beauchamp College and, aims to provide courses which will allow adults to build and improve their skills, confidence and self esteem, and move them into employment or education.
