Free gifts for schools on World First Aid Day

4 September

It’s World First Aid Day on 12 September – and to celebrate we’re offering a range of tempting first aid freebies to schools and youth organisations.

To celebrate World First Aid Day, we’re giving away a first aid poster that shows how to deal with severe bleeding injuries. This offer is valid for September only – so order from our online shop now using the promotional code PT09334.Boy performing first aid on manikin
We're also giving away a free first aid manual on our blog site – enter our quiz by 9 September.

Liz Brunwin, project manager, said: “This useful poster outlines clearly and simply what you should do if faced with a serious bleeding injury. It’s just one example from a set of seven posters that we’ve produced to build up young people’s first aid knowledge.”

Free lesson plans

The Red Cross is also offering two free lesson plans, which give a taste of how the Life. Live it. first aid education kit works. You can either download these directly or order a sample CD-ROM.

Recent research shows that 98 per cent of teachers across the UK believe that first aid should be taught in schools, yet despite this a quarter of secondary schools are not currently teaching first aid. The Red Cross’ Life. Live it. first aid education kit has been specially designed for schools and youth organisations working with young people.

See what some of the teachers who have used the kit had to say about in our new video:
