How much does the Red Cross receive?

For every mobile phone recycled, regardless of brand, model or age, the Red Cross will receive £3. This will go towards projects we run in your own community, for example training people in vital first aid skills, and to international projects such as home-based care for people affected by HIV/Aids in South Africa.

Why recycle phones?

There are more mobile phones than people in the UK and handsets are typically used for 18 months before being replaced. Most of the unused mobile phones will be initially stored and eventually end up thrown away.

This waste is of great concern around the world as the phone components contain many toxic substances that could become a threat to human health and the environment if not disposed of appropriately.

To request a mobile phone recycling envelope, phone 020 7877 7565 or fill in this form.
