How our charity shops help people

Our shops sell your donations to fund the work of the British Red Cross. The Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies – both in the UK and across the world.Emergency response volunteers put a man into an ambulance

Just think about how the pennies you spend at your local Red Cross charity shop could help people in crisis:

66p could buy 100 water purification tablets to clean dirty water
£1.70 could buy one family-sized mosquito net to protect against malaria
£2.50 could buy a foil blanket to keep disaster victims warm
£10.20 could equip a family with a kitchen set
£70 could provide emergency-response training for volunteers
£102 could provide a family with a tent when their home has been destroyed

Read about how these items have saved lives during recent international emergencies.
