Donating medical items

Donated drugs are rarely accepted by the Red Cross or by other aid agencies.

The World Health Organisation has very strict guidelines on the medical supplies that can be sent overseas. Out-of-date, or just-in-date drugs can never be accepted, and most of the drugs that can be sourced in the UK will be unknown to the majority of medical personnel with whom we work internationally.

The Red Cross only issues drugs on the WHO Essential Drugs List - these are all generic in nature and are familiar and known to most medical staff worldwide.

The best and easiest way to help the Red Cross is to support us with a donation of money.  One of the most efficient ways to give is by making a donation online.
