How to deal with a spinal injury
| If you suspect someone has suffered a spinal injury, do not move them unless you believe their life is in danger.
Back injuries can be serious because they affect the spinal cord, which contains the nerves that control many of the body’s functions.
Always suspect a spinal injury if the casualty has fallen awkwardly, especially from a height, and particularly if the casualty has a head injury or is experiencing any loss of feeling or movement.
How to help
1. Keep the casualty still
