Survivors of the China earthquake receive medical treatment outside the hospital they were evacuated from in Chongqing municipality, following the earthquake in neighbouring Sichuan province.

The force of the earthquake caused 80 per cent of houses in Wenchuan County to collapse. Also, schools, factories and hospitals were among major buildings demolished by the quake.
