Asia-Pacific - programme areas

The British Red Cross is currently supporting health and social care programmes in Mongolia and China.

We also played a lead role in responding to the tsunami, with operations in the region focusing on the Indonesian province of Aceh.

The organisation spent about £40 million in Indonesia, helping thousands of people get their lives and livelihoods back. This vast undertaking included construction of new houses, opening bank accounts, and providing grants for families to re-establish their livelihood.
