British Red Cross volunteers – fully trained in advanced first aid – are ready to help at any occasion across the UK, from a community event to stadium-sized rock concert. When accidents happen or illnesses take hold, their knowledge can be vital in saving lives or preventing further injury.
Trained and skilled
All our volunteers are fully trained in first aid delivery and will have used their skills at a wide range of public events. Red Cross first aid teams – who regularly undergo refresher training – are also trained in resuscitation techniques, including defibrillator use.
On average, Red Cross first aiders treat thousands of serious injuries and save several lives every year.
A personal touch
At public events, people often need more than just medical support. Besides core first aid skills, our volunteers are specially trained to provide practical help and emotional support to people in distress.
In addition, we can loan medical equipment such as wheelchairs to those in need at events.
