Humanitarian heroes

Last year, we recognised the humanitarian achievements of our friends and supporters. In October, we presented former US President Bill Clinton with our Humanity Fellowship Award for his tireless work raising global issues such as poverty, disease and the environment.

Our second annual Humanitarian Citizen Awards celebrated young people who have made a positive difference in their community. The increased number of entries included a young volunteer who had spent a year working with Malaysian orphans, and a group that helps young asylum seekers adjust to life in the UK.

“I train other young people in basic first aid. I think it’s easier for them to learn with me – they interact more than they would with an adult. I try to make them see that first aid’s a necessity”
